Our Catcher

Joshua had a fun time the catcher position at yesterday's baseball game. I love seeing my little man in all that gear. He loves having all that contact with the ball. What fun memories we will have from this season.

Sophia'sCast UPDATE

My little baby girl who was born with a broken collar bone has her second bone break. She fractured her right index finger while we were plating our food at The Soup Plantation. She will be in a cast for 3 weeks. April 23rd is the day she gets her cast off. In the meantime, she's learning the ropes of having a cast. It's amazing to us that she doesn't complain much & has adapted quite well.

Easter Week

Our family had a wonderful Easter. A weekend that was full of fun. On Maundy Thursday (April Fool's Day) Sophia broke her finger so that put some hamper on our fun, however,Sophia acclimated pretty well to her new cast. The kids enjoyed an Egg Hunt at church sponsored by our Youth Group and then we spent Easter AM at the church in Celebration of Christ's Victory over the grave. Easter afternoon was spent in Hemet with Kevin's parents in their new home. We also had a nice earthquake while we were visiting. The kids had a wonderful Easter break catching up with friends they haven't seen in a while or that we don't have time to do things with because of every one's busy schedules.
Now we are back to school tomorrow and I am going to catch up on all the things that I couldn't get done while the kids were off. Only 8 more weeks of school and then it's summer. That's very hard to believe.

Sophia's Broken Finger

Well, I guess I was in dire need for something to BLOG about because Sophia decided to break her finger on Thursday night. We had made a special trip up to Temecula that night and went to Soup Plantation for dinner. Soup Plantation is always enticing because all of us (including Marissa) have a lot of healthy options & I usually have a coupon. While in line loading our plates, Sophia couldn't see what was on her plate so she pulled on what she thought was the counter to see on to the tray. Well, she ended up pulling on the lip of the tray & the tray wasn't resting entirely on the counter so when she pulled it, it flipped over and the ceramic plate went flying and hit her hand. Needless to say, we ended up in URGENT CARE & came home with a splint and an x-ray that confirmed that Sophia had fractured her index finger. Yesterday, she had an appointment with the orthopedist & he thought the best possible heal would come from a cast covering her fingers all they way up to her elbow. Sophia got to choose the color of her cast, and of course she chose PINK. She loves her new pink and white cast and all the attention that it brings to her. I on the other hand am going to have a crazy three weeks ahead of me trying to keep the thing dry, clean and free from goodies that might enter it. Wish me luck!
