Happy Birthday, Kevin!

Happy Birthday, Daddy/Kevin! Birthday's seems to come by so quickly these days! I cannot believe it! We just celebrated 14 years of marriage on the 3rd! Kevin is now 41...I'm on the verge of 40...we have three children and life continues to bless us. We are very thankful for all that God has provided for us.
Daddy had a fun birthday at Las Olas in Cardiff. We had chips, salsa and great mexican Food overlooking the ocean.
When we came home we shared in a delicious homemade Peanut Butter Cake. Peanut Butter is Kevin's favorite and this cake was very yummy. We had so much fun celebrating Kevin's Birthday with him! We love you!

The Kids got a Wii!!!

The Bergeron family had a nice Father's Day. We had gone camping and then we went to a steak house for lunch on our way home.
The kids had saved their money for a Wii for months. They wanted one for Christmas but we told them that was something we were not going to get for them. We told them if they wanted one that they would have to save their own money. Well, that they did! They saved birthday money & extra chore money for 6 months and pooled their money together to get their Wii. They purchased their Wii on Sunday. It was a nice accomplishment for them. They are very excited with their purchase and so proud that they earned it themselves. They do know that they cannot play it when ever they want. They earn their daily time from good behavior and doing extra chores. So far it's a good thing all around. And.......... I must say that I loved the bowling game on Wii sports.

Bergeron Family Camping Trip

This past weekend our family took our very first camping trip. We were invited to go with the Nowell Family to Indian Oaks Campground in Temecula. Knowing that this was my first trip camping they took EXTRA good care of us. When we arrived at camp they had it all set up and ready to go. We were set up with a BIG tent, cots, lanterns, and many good meals. I have never slept in a tent before and neither had the kids. They had a fun time sleeping in their sleeping bags next to us.
At about 3:00Am the first AM we were there, I really needed to use the bathroom. I took a little hike (with my flashlight) to the facilities and on my way I encountered a raccoon. That silly little guy was looking at me as if I was invading his home. It took one little “go away” and swish with the flashlight and off he went.
The next day we were up with the sun and a great aroma of breakfast cooking. Sean had made pancakes, little smokies, fruit, and FRESH decaf vanilla nut coffee. It was a chilly morning and the day never did bring in the sun so I stayed in my nice fuzzy PJs all day. I have always wanted and excuse to bum around in my pj’s and thought this was the perfect day to do it. After all…this was vacation…right???
The kids had a blast playing with their friends. They went fishing, launched water balloons, played catch, kicked the soccer ball around, played cards, hide and seek…....and it was NON STOP fun for them.
It seemed like every few hours it was time to eat another incredible camp meal. Who knew camping could be so tasty too?? Sean made us the best food……you would have never known he didn’t have a REAL kitchen. His make shift kitchen was phenomenal!!! We had hot dogs, hamburgers, biscuits, baked potatoes, chili, corn on the cob, fried chicken, bacon, eggs to name a few of his specialties.

We are so incredibly blessed to know such wonderful people who worked very hard to make us comfortable and to make this experience the best camping adventure ever! A great big thanks to Sean, Michelle and boys for making this a trip that will be cherished forever. We all had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed ourselves and your family!

Kevin loves this picture of me doing the dishes with a mop bucket and a pitcher filled with hot water.

Sophia's 1st Haircut

June 19th was a very exciting day for the Bergeron's. Not only was it Kevin's moms retirement & birthday, but that was the day Sophia got her 1st haircut. I know it was a little late to get her 1st haircut (at two and a half years), but I had to wait til she had a little more hair to work with. She didn't have a lot cut off, but it was all evened out and looks healthier now. Sophia had so much fun sitting up on the chair getting primped and pampered. For the most part she sat still and her siblings cheered her on. Sophia now has a cute new little summer hair style. Her favorite part was getting some glitter sparkles in her hair. And when it was all over, she was so pleased to get a nice lollypop from from the treasure chest.

Last Day of School

So, today was the kids last day of school. I am happy to get out of the routine and enjoy my kids this summer. I hope to keep them busy, give them more responsibilities, and just enjoy them more.
Joshua gave the lil book we made to his teacher this AM. She loved it. She told Joshua she still has the one that Marissa made for her when she was in Kindergarten.
Joshua wore a shirt I made for him for the last day of school and he has his friends sign the back. Then they sang their Good-Bye song one last time. I know I keep saying this: BUT, where has the time gone?? I still remember Joshua's 1st sentence was "I DO IT." And here he is still doing it. That kid never stops and charms all the way. I am just thrilled Kindergarten was a fun experience for him and he is truly looking forward to 1st grade.
Marissa on the other hand is very sad 4th grade is over. She isn't too thrilled about becoming a 5th grader. The thought of starting over with a new teacher and learning new concepts scares her. She will do just fine and I too remember that transition was difficult for me. The 5th grade class just graduated today and they all look so big. They definitely look like middle schoolers. This time next year our lil gal will be there too. I can only pray for patience and cherish this next year too.
Sophia is till happy, go lucky, and carefree. She keeps me on my toes by her demanding demeanor and charm. She's fun to have around and her specialty these days is to wear me down and tire me out.
Here's to a summer filled with fun and great memories with family & friends.

The last Good-bye song. Every AM the kids sing good-bye before they go into class. Lots of mommy's shedding tears for this last good-bye song. Now we all have 1st graders.

Scrapbook for Joshua's Teacher

Joshua and I had so much fun making this scrapbook for his teacher. It was made out of brown lunch paper bags. I got a little creative with ribbons, bows, paper clips and tags. I got sayings from a book that has many quotes. The scrapbook has little pockets where Joshua wrote special memories this kindergarten year.
I still cannot believe that the Kindergarten year is over. Joshua is so happy to be a 1st grader...you know me, I love Kinder and would be happy to be stuck there forever.

Marissa's Sacramento Field Trip

Marissa and I had so much fun on her trip to Sacramento. It was a true blessing to get to go. Marissa did so well monitoring her diet on her own. She was very responsible and made her formula and traveled with it. The chaperone's were very impressed.
Marissa and I went up the day before the class left so we could spend the day with our friends. They picked us up from the airport and we thought we were off the the mall for a mini facial. Well, they had a surprise in store for us. The drove us to San Francisco. Marissa not only got to experience our state Capital, but The Golden Gate Bridge, the Oakland Bay Bridge, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf & Ghiradelli Square. Marissa was so excited to be on The Golden Gate Bridge that she wanted to call her teacher and tell her all about it. I took Marissa to meet her class on Saturday AM and she was off to see the Capital and then off to the American River for a camp out. I met her back at the airport on Sunday night and they had many fun experiences to tell about.
The only hitch in the trip was that we got stuck at the airport coming home. The flight was delayed 2 hours which put us back in San Diego at 12:00 AM. Then there was the LONG school bus ride home. Yes, the school bus really only goes 55 miles per hour and rides the the slow lane. At 12:30 AM it seems like an eternity before we get past an off ramp. Needless to say, we were in bed by 1:45 AM.
I'm sad it is over but feel so blessed Marissa was able to experience such fun and learn so much along the way. Thanks so much to our friends and family that made this trip possible for Marissa. She truly earned her money for the trip because of your generosity....for that we will always be forever grateful!

Joshua's Kindergarten Program

Joshua’s Kindergarten Program was a BLAST! He did so well and really enjoyed himself. He was patient up til the last minute as his memory book was one of the last to come out of the box. During the program they sang several songs. Joshua was really into it. He had moves I didn’t think he had in him. It was so cute to watch. At the end of the program the Kindergarten Teachers opened a big present and it was a Memory book for each child. These books were of their work that they have collected throughout the school year. We were so fortunate once again to have Mrs. Meyers for Joshua’s teacher. Marissa had her and Joshua was so happy that he got to have her too. I know have to come to the realization that Joshua will be a 1st grader in just a few weeks.
On another note, Marissa will be in 5th grade. Just one short year before she starts middle school. My kids are growing up too quickly, I’m so sad time is going by too fast. We keep busy, busy, busy, and things are crazy, crazy, crazy…but then one day I wake up and it’s June 2009…. and here we are: Marissa is 10, Joshua is 6, and my baby is ½ way to 3. And I don't even remember how old I am these days, it's gotta be 20 something by now.

So Long Good-bye song

Watch Joshua get into the groove of it. The kids next to him keeps turning around to look at him. TOO funny!

Disneyland

Here I go once again with a BLOG about Disneyland, but today was a very special day as our passes expire this month and this was our last day to spend there as a family before they expire. I just love to see my children light up when they watch the parade, enjoy a special treat, or visit their favorite characters. Today Sophia had a wonderful time visiting with the Princesses as well as with many characters. She's now at that age where she truly enjoys interacting with them all. I'm so sad to see my passes expire. I'll try to earn the money I need to purchase them again. These times are so special and these passes were truly priceless.

Now do you see how sad Sophia is that our passes have expired??? She's going to miss her friends!!
