Happy Birthday, Nicholle!

Just a little birthday blog wish to my friend Nicholle! It's so nice to have such wonderful friends in my life and I truly value her friendship! I met Nicholle when our boys were just weeks old. We have so much in common even down to the ages of our kids. She has 4 children and I have three, but her three youngest are all exactly 4 months younger than mine. They are even the same gender. The crazy thing is...they really all get along. Marissa just loves Sammie, and Connor is really Joshua's only male friend (they have always had fun being boys together)...well, then there's Mad's and Sophia....they just go with the flow and seem pretty content when they are together. Here's to wishing you a wonderful Birthday! We'll have to make the time to get together very soon, so we can celebrate your special day. Happy, Happy Birthday!

Saving for the BIG 4th Grade Field Trip

Marissa has a big over night field trip coming up in Spring of 2009. 4th graders study CA History so the 4th grade teachers like to children to experience CA through a trip to the Capitol. They will get to spend one night on the american River, go panning for gold, see Old Town Sacramento, and visit the Capitol Building. Marissa would really like to go. The kids need to fund raise the 500.00 dollars they need to go. So, this morning when we had our garage sale, I set up a stand for Marissa to sell homemade cookies and coffee. Well, she did wonderfully. I only made 20.00 bucks, but she made 21.00. I guess we'll have to sell a lot more cookies in the upcoming months if she is too make 500.00, but it was a wonderful learning experience that money is more difficult to come by than it may seem. We'll just keep this trip in our prayers, and if Marissa is meant to go, we know that God will provide the means. I am just glad she is learning patience and hard work through this.

Happy Birthday, Annabella!

Sophia and I were so very fortunate and very blessed to spend Annabella's 2nd Birthday with her! We had such a fun time in Sacramento. We not only celebrated annabella's birthday, but we got an impromptu trip to Lake Tahoe! We also got to go apple picking and got to see the Capitol Building in Sacramento.
Thanks you Bill and Pam for making this a very memorable trip for Sophia and I. We love and miss you lots!

And Mother of the Year goes to..............

Well, it's definitely not me! You see my whole family has been sick on and off since Labor Day! It all started out with Joshua getting sick over Labor Day weekend. He had the stomach and intestinal flu. Then....well, dad got it! So, he took Tues off because he was sick, not so that he could be at Joshua's 1st Day of kindergarten! We were all very bummed about that. Well, Kevin got over it...then on Thurs AM Joshua spikes a fever of 102. His fever didn't break til early Sunday morning. Well, now needless to say...Sophia has the intestinal and stomach flu. She is miserable! Even though I feel for my kids being so sick, I am now so on edge for fear that Marissa and I will come down with it any moment. Sophia has no fever, but is not able to keep anything down. POOR BABY! This AM I was upstairs changing her bed for the umpteenth time and she started to cry at the bottom on the stairwell. She made every effort to get to me with her handful of blankets as she is climbing up the stairs. Poor thing is crying, and then she stops. After a few moments I went to check on her. The poor kid was asleep on the stairwell. I can only pray that she feels better soon and that the rest of uss stay healthy.

This summer I had the kids enter a contest through the local newspaper. They had to write as to how they how save the ocean and sealife. Both Joshua and Marissa did this. We researched online for ways they could help the sea environment. We found out that both of them won. They won 4 tickets to Legolands NEW Sealife Aquarium! So, yesterday we took the kids for the morning! They had a lot of fun looking at the fish and touching the sea stars! Here are pictures from our morning at the aquarium. Check out that mom and baby made from Legos! Crazy, huh?

1st Day of School

WOW, what a day! The kids had a very exciting morning getting ready for their 1st Day of School! We are all exhausted this afternoon. Joshua had a great time being a Kindergartner and Marissa has an awesome 4th grade teacher. It was fun to see Marissa being reunited with her friends and Joshua learning the ropes. We are truly fortunate that Papa and Grandma Bergeron were there! After Joshua's 1st Day of School they even took him out for lunch. What a fun day that will always be rememebered.

Our Labor Day Trip!

We just got back from Disneyland. We had a fun time. Nana and Grandpa Frank joined us. They had a nice time and it was nice to see the kids have fun with them too.
School starts tomorrow, so our fun has come to an end. The kids are so excited to start. I'm sad to see them growong up so quickly.
Here are some picture of our fun day today:
