We have to say, you lil guy officially started the t-ball season today. His team is called the A's! He's very excited to be on a baseball team. We cannot wait to take him to his 1st major league game this spring!
He was soooo cute or shall I say handsome in his lil uniform. His pants are way too big, so he has a belt. We can only hope that this year when he slides into home plate that he doesn't leave his pants at third base.
Go A's!

Sophia FINALLY sits on the Potty!

I have been waiting for something silly to happen that was BLOG worthy! Well, Sophia certainly did it tonight. We have all been talking to Sophia about using the potty and not having to use a diaper anymore. We are stressing diapers are for babies, but she still wants nothing to do with the BIG girl potty. I tried to bribe her with new shoes (she has a passion for shoes! Or as she would say..EWES) if she even sat on the potty with no diapers, but that was a NO GO!
In my opinion, she’s a little too young to actually use the potty considering that Marissa was 33 months old and Joshua was a good 2 and a half. I was going to take a break from even talking about it anymore because she has been very apprehensive and even scarred of the whole thing. I don’t want to traumatize her or make her anal retentive (that’s where my Psychology & Child Development come in). Well, this evening I saw Sophia sitting on the sofa. She looked like she was sitting up a little taller than usual. When I looked down I was surprised to see Sophia’s Potty Chair on the couch and she was sitting on it with her pants on. In her hand was the book, Once Upon A Potty. We had been reading this book, but I really never thought she was interested as all she would mutter was…”no want too.” Anyhow, these pictures say it all. Maybe someday she’ll be potty trained…..in the meantime, I’ll have to remain patient and remember that I potty trained two others, so this too shall pass.

Marissa is ALMOST 10!

We cannot even believe how quickly 10 years has gone! When we came to San Diego in the Summer of 1999, our Lil’ Marissa was only 5 months old! Now here we are 10 years later with a sweet 10 year old girl that has a zest for life, has many friends and a strong love for our Lord! What more could a mommy want?
We celebrated Marissa’s 10th Birthday at our house on Friday night. She had 8 girl friends over , so it was quite the party. The theme of the party wa : Freaky Friday Flip Flop Frenzy! Well, not really, but you’ll get the jist once you see the pictures. The girls made their own heart shaped pizza’s,their own fluffy flip flops, watched Disney’s Freaky Friday & even decorated their own cupcakes. You could tell the girls that loved candy as they certainly knew how to maximize the space on their cupcake so they could fill every last spot with it.
The celebration continues when Marissa really turns TEN this Friday the 13th! Nothing freaky about this Friday as we will be spending it at Disneyland! This year Disneyland allows the Birthday Person to get in FREE. Check it out at: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/WhatWillYouCelebrate/disneyland/index?name=CelebrationsDLRFreeOnYourBirthdayPage
Since we are pass holders and her birthday is unblocked on that day, Disneyland will give Marissa a gift card for the amount of money she would have spent to get into the park. This is where to deal is really good. The price of admission goes up 10.00 dollars, so Marissa will get a gift card of 69.00 to spend in the park that day! Fun for her, because we go so often that we never buy souvenirs ! Marissa has that day off school, so we aren’t even playing hooky! This Friday the 13th will be one Marissa remembers forever! Happy Birthday Sweet Marissa! We are sad 10 years has gone by too quickly…but are looking forward to the years to come.
