What a fun day for Joshua and Marissa. They both found out who their teachers were and we are VERY pleased! Joshua has adored Mrs. meyers since he was 17 months old when Marissa started Kindergarten. We are very blessed and so very fortunate that she is also going to be Joshua's Kindergarten teacher. This summer Joshua has been working on his words and numbers. He is so excited to start kindergaren. Marissa found out today that she has Mrs. Desposito. She is a wonderful 4th grade teacher that will continue to challenge Marissa in all academic areas. We will enjoy our last weekend of summer as school starts on Tuesday!

Sophia's on a box!
We were at Target this AM getting a few bins so that we could try to organize the things we would like to take if there was another fire this season. That is...IF we had time to evacuate like last time. We wanted to get our photo albums, baby books, scrapbooks, wedding albums, & home videos to name a few put in one spot so in case we got to go in a flash that we would know where everything was. We were in line with our rubbermaid bins when I noticed the lady in front of us was purchasing an Infantino Baby Carrier...I just thought for a moment..."I wonder when we will see Sophia's Carrier in the stores." Well, then I looked at the picture on her box and it was Sophia! CRAZY! Well, needless to say we left line to go search her out. We found the carrier and Sophia on the box and decided to purchase it for 14.99! WOW, that's the most expensive BOX I have ever paid for! Sophia loved having the box with the baby on it. All she said was, "baby, baby, baby." In hindsight, I probably should have asked the lady buying the carrier, if I could have her box or even pay her five bucks for it. But in the excitment of it all, I obviously wasn't thinking, and I'm still thinking.... DID I really just pay 15.00 for a box???

Disneyland with Dad!
Our family had a wonderful time at Disneyland this week with Daddy. They were so excited that Dad got to join us on this venture. You see, Daddy works so hard for his family, he's rarely able to have fun. Daddy was secretly hoping to win a prize from Disneyland's One Year of Dream giveaways. Well, no winnings to report, but we all had a nice time.
We do have a funny story to share. The kids all really wanted to ride the canoes. This is a ride you actaully get to hop into a canoe, they give you and oar, and you get to paddle. So we all got in the boat...SOPHIA TOO! They have ALL kids under 7 put on a life vest. Well, just as I am starting to use my oar to paddle, Sophia decides to stand up and lean over the boat to touch the water. I immediately grabbed her, stopped paddling and decide I was going to hold her. That didn't go over very well with the head Canoe Man. He was giving me a hard time for not paddling. When I told him I had to hang onto my kid so she didn't fall in, he made the comment that in the 50 plus years Disneyland has been open that no one has ever fallen in. And then he said if she did...."that's why she has a life vest on." So....feeling embarrassed and guilty for not pulling my weight in paddling...I decided I needed to make my paddle go. After a few minutes, the canoe man in the back yelled....."That kid needs to SIT down." The head man turned around and said, "is someone standing?" I told him, "YES, it was my kid!" He felt horrible and told me that I didn't need to paddle and that he guessed I know my own kid better than he did. OH well..he indeed felt bad as I heard him retelling the story to his fellow canoe workers when he got back to shore. I guess he'll start listening to these moms from now on. So all you mommy's out there...take your kids to kid the Disney Canoe...it's a FREE ride...you won't even have to paddle if you tell them your kid might decide to go in for a swim.
Here are some pictures of our trip.
All tuckered out...until next time!

Joshua's 1st Soccer Game
Joshua had a wonderful time at his 1st soccer game. These little pint size guys are too cute for words! They run around and they are so skinny, that they are constantly pulling up their little pants.
Joshua's first position was attacker and now I TRULY know he can live up to the position. Boy, is that kid aggressive on the field. He has the I WANNA GOAL mentality. He got the first official kick of the game and it was all over after that. The kid scored 2 goals the first half of the game. No one keeps track of the score at this age, however the parents were chatting and said our team won 3 to 1. What a fun way to start on his soccer season. However, We don't tell him his team won. We are telling him that everyone wins as long as they are doing their very best for their team! Way to go, Joshua!

Look at my baby!

I was surfing the Infantino website and found Sophia on their web site. She modeled several toys for them and also a couple carriers. It was fun to see her on the web site. This was her first official modeling job. This job was done in May of 2007.
Here is the link to Infantino's web site and Sophia's picture:

Remedies
I thought these were interesting. Not sure if they work, but if you try and find out that they do, please let me know. A lot of them seem like very practical ideas.
Wesson Corn Oil
Eliminate ear mites. All it takes is a few drops of Wesson Corn Oil in your cat's ear. Massage it in, then clean with a cotton ball. Repeat daily for 3 days. The oil soothes the cat's skin, smothers the mites, and accelerates healing.
Dawn Dishwashing Liquid
Kills fleas instantly. Dawn Dishwashing Liquid does the trick. Add a few drops to your dog's bath and shampoo the animal thoroughly. Rinse well to avoid skin irritations. Good-bye fleas.
Bounce
Rainy day cure for dog odor: Next time your dog comes in from the rain, simply wipe down the animal with Bounce or any dryer sheet, instantly making your dog smell springtime fresh.
Gatorade
Did you know that drinking two glasses of Gatorade can relieve headache pain almost immediately- without the unpleasant side effects caused by traditional pain relievers?
Colgate Toothpaste
Did you know that Colgate Toothpaste makes an excellent salve for burns?
Altoids peppermints
Before you head to the drugstore for a high-priced inhaler filled with mysterious chemicals, try chewing on a couple of curiously strong Altoids peppermints. They'll clear up your stuffed nose.
1 tablespoon horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil
Achy muscles from a bout of the flu? Mix 1 tablespoon horseradish in 1 cup of olive oil. Let the mixture sit for 30 minutes, then apply it as a massage oil for instant relief for aching muscles.

The Babies are getting so big!
We are so truly blessed that we got to see and spend time with Annabella this week. Sophia is having a fun time with her little BFF. The babies play so well together and truly enjoy one another's company. They have know each other since Sophia was born. They are only weeks apart. We were sad when their family moved to Sacramento but we have kept in touch. The babies always seem to have a matching outfit. Today Annabella gave Sophia this brown and pink striped dress...they looked so cute in their matching dresses. Here are some pictures of the girls as they are growing up.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!
Here are Marissa and Sara having so much fun showing off their Rock and Roll Show! It was an exhausting week of fun for my kids. They had morning VBS and then evening VBS, not to mention fun at the WAVE Waterpark, multiple playdates & mommy's birthday all in the same week.
I was pooped Thursday and put Sophia and Joshua down for naps. I told the girls to hang out downstairs and watch a movie so that I could shut my eyes and rest for a few minutes. When I woke up, I woke up to this! A show that the girls put on. This included handmade electric guiters, music, matching outfits, glitter and lip gloss. The girls had a blast showing me their show done to music from Disney's FREAKY FRIDAY! I can only say is with some empty boxes, a spool of yarn, a kick boards and LOTS and LOTSA of tape......they are definitly creative.
